Lamine Yamal has made it clear that he won’t campaign or beg for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, despite being one of the leading contenders for football’s biggest individual prize.
The Barcelona star believes his performances should speak for themselves after a remarkable season in which he helped Spain win the World Cup and Barcelona claim La Liga.
Yamal was also asked about Ousmane Dembélé leaving him out of his personal Ballon d’Or favourites. The teenager brushed it off, saying Dembélé is his friend and that he is simply happy with what he has achieved.
The 19-year-old is officially among the 30 Ballon d’Or nominees, alongside stars such as Mbappé, Haaland, Kane, Messi and Bellingham.
No begging. No campaign. Yamal is letting his football do the talking.
