Zinedine Zidane’s first home game as France manager ended in a 1-1 draw against Italy, ending his perfect start after wins over Turkey and Belgium.

Michael Olise put France ahead in the 55th minute with a brilliant curling finish from a free-kick routine, but Alessandro Bastoni levelled 13 minutes later after France were caught trying to play out from the back.
Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma played a major role in keeping the visitors in the game, making several important saves as France pushed for a second goal. France were also reduced to 10 men late on after Dayot Upamecano received a second yellow card.
France remain top of Nations League Group A1 with seven points, one ahead of Belgium. Zidane now faces another test against Belgium on Monday.
Can Zidane turn this France side into a major force before Euro 2028?
