De Bruyne Rolls Back the Years With Double

Kevin De Bruyne delivered a vintage performance as Belgium cruised to a 3-0 win over Turkey in the Nations League.

The Napoli midfielder opened the scoring in the 10th minute after combining with Dodi Lukebakio, before curling a superb second into the top corner just after the hour mark. Romelu Lukaku added Belgium’s third in the 76th minute.

The brace came in De Bruyne’s 127th appearance for Belgium. The 35-year-old said he still feels he can contribute and is enjoying his football, while coach Mark van Bommel praised his influence on the younger players.

Belgium now have six points from three Group A1 matches, just one behind France, while Turkey remain pointless after three defeats. De Bruyne, however, will miss Belgium’s next match against France after picking up a suspension.

Is De Bruyne still one of the most important players in this Belgium team?
