Frank Lampard was full of praise for Coventry City after his side delivered a commanding 4-1 victory over Newcastle United, highlighting their spirit, work rate and clinical finishing.
Jack Rudoni opened the scoring from the penalty spot before teenage forward Sidiki Cherif doubled Coventry’s advantage. Newcastle pulled one back through Sven Botman, but substitutes Ellis Simms and Stephen Mfuni struck late to seal a memorable win.
“It was a complete performance,” Lampard said, praising the belief and energy shown by his players. However, he urged his team to remain grounded, reminding them that one victory would not define their season.
The result marks Coventry’s second Premier League win of the campaign and provides a major boost as they look to move clear of the relegation battle.
Can Lampard turn this result into the start of a genuine survival push, or will Coventry struggle to maintain this level of performance?
