Johnson joins Everton in swap deal with McNeil

Crystal Palace and Everton have completed a swap deal involving Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil.

Johnson, 25, joins Everton on a four-year contract after just six months at Palace, having moved from Tottenham for £35 million in January. The Wales international made limited appearances for Palace but was part of the squad that won the UEFA Conference League.

Johnson said Everton’s ambitions under manager David Moyes played a key role in his decision to make the move.

Meanwhile, McNeil, 26, heads to Crystal Palace on a four-year deal after four seasons with Everton. The former England Under-21 international had previously been close to joining Palace in January but the move failed to materialise.

Both players will now look to make an immediate impact as their new clubs prepare for the upcoming Premier League season.
