Man City Silence Anfield with 3-0 Win Over Liverpool

Manchester City delivered a powerful on-field response to their financial rules verdict, crushing Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.

The match was tense from the beginning, with Liverpool fans making their anger clear over City’s financial case. But the game changed in the 62nd minute when Ryan Gravenberch received a second yellow card for a foul on Jérémy Doku, leaving Liverpool with 10 men.

City took full advantage. Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 65th minute, Doku curled in a superb second three minutes later, and Rayan Cherki completed the 3-0 victory in the 78th minute.

The win gave Enzo Maresca’s side six victories from six league matches and kept them three points clear at the top. However, the financial case remains unresolved, with City appealing the independent commission’s findings and no sporting sanction announced yet. Liverpool, meanwhile, suffered their first league defeat under Andoni Iraola.

Was this a statement of City’s strength, or did Gravenberch’s red card change everything?
