Florian Wirtz has completed a blockbuster move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen, with the fee reportedly reaching a British record of up to £116 million, or potentially even higher according to German reports. The 22-year-old playmaker expressed his ambition to “win everything” with the Premier League champions and is excited for a fresh challenge in England.

Wirtz played a key role in Leverkusen’s historic unbeaten domestic double in 2023/24 and was named Bundesliga Player of the Year. He joins fellow former Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong at Anfield, turning down Bayern Munich for a new adventure in the Premier League.
With 57 goals and 65 assists in 197 games, Wirtz brings creativity and goal threat to an already competitive Liverpool attack. His arrival may lead to increased competition for forwards like Jota, Nunez, and Chiesa, and could prompt player sales to support further signings, with Milos Kerkez, Alexander Isak, and Marc Guehi also linked.
