Donyell Malen continued his sensational start to the season by scoring his sixth goal of the campaign as Roma beat Torino 2-0 on Monday to move top of Serie A.
The former Aston Villa forward struck just before halftime to maintain Roma’s perfect record, with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side winning all four of their league matches so far.
Niccolo Pisilli sealed the victory in the 93rd minute, scoring his second goal of the season to secure all three points.
The result leaves Torino 14th in the Serie A standings, with their only victory this season coming against Fiorentina in their previous outing.
Roma’s victory puts them at the summit, while Cesc Fabregas’ Como sit second after beating Parma 2-1. Spanish centre-back Jacobo Ramon and Brazilian left-back Kaiki were on target for Como.
Defending champions Inter Milan had the chance to keep pace with Roma later Monday when they hosted Udinese.
Elsewhere, Napoli ended their losing streak on Sunday as Stanislav Lobotka scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Bologna, easing pressure on coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Juventus, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat of the season after a dramatic 3-2 loss to Sassuolo, with Montenegro midfielder Vasilije Adzic scoring a last-gasp winner against his parent club.
