Viktor Gyökeres endured a difficult Premier League debut for Arsenal in their defeat to Manchester United, failing to register a single shot on target. The £64m signing had only two weeks of pre-season training following his drawn-out move from Sporting.

Mikel Arteta, however, urged patience, insisting the Swedish striker will soon deliver:
“We’ll be extremely happy when he starts scoring, which is his biggest strength. The team and I have a big responsibility to help him and play to his qualities.”
Gyökeres was substituted early at Old Trafford, but Arteta praised his effort and revealed the plan had been to integrate him gradually alongside Kai Havertz—who is now sidelined for several weeks, increasing pressure on the new signing.
“He’s ready to go again. He trained really well this week and looks in a good place,” Arteta added.
Arsenal face Leeds next, with fans hoping their new striker opens his account.
