Manchester United Winless in Six as Pressure Mounts on Carrick

Manchester United’s difficult start to the 2026-27 season continued after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Leeds United at Elland Road, extending their winless run to six matches in all competitions.

Bryan Mbeumo put United ahead in the 35th minute, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised six minutes into the second half. The result left United with just seven points from their opening seven Premier League matches, placing them 13th in the table.

United had finished third last season after Michael Carrick took charge as interim manager, but their form has dipped since he was appointed permanent boss. The club have managed only two wins in all competitions this season, with their latest draw adding to growing questions about Carrick’s future.

Despite the mounting pressure, Carrick remained confident that United could turn things around. He described the Leeds match as a possible fresh start and insisted he had no doubt the team could return to winning form.
