Official: Manchester United Sign Bryan Mbeumo in £71m Deal

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal worth £71 million, making him the club’s second major arrival of the summer after Matheus Cunha joined from Wolves.

The 25-year-old forward arrives at Old Trafford on the back of a standout 2024/25 season, in which he scored 20 goals and provided eight assists in the Premier League. A key figure in Brentford’s attack, Mbeumo started every league game, helping the Bees secure a top-half finish.

Since Brentford’s promotion to the Premier League, the Cameroon international has averaged 18 goal contributions per season, showcasing remarkable consistency and versatility in the final third.

“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams – the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” said Mbeumo.
“My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here, learning from Rúben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.”

Amorim Gets His Man

Manager Rúben Amorim had been clear about his desire to add pace, power, and goals to his attack — and Mbeumo ticks every box. A product of Troyes before joining Brentford in 2019, Mbeumo has grown into one of the league’s most reliable forwards and is now set to take the next step in his career.

He will link up with his new teammates as preparations continue for the 2025/26 campaign, and he is expected to be in the squad for United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

With Amorim heading into his first full season in charge, fans are eagerly anticipating how the new-look frontline — now boasting Mbeumo, Cunha, and Rasmus Højlund — will take shape.
