The Oklahoma City Thunder have made history by scoring more points in a single season than any team in NBA history. Including both regular season and playoff games, they surpassed the previous record of 12,161 points set by the 2018-19 Golden State Warriors. The record-breaking moment came during Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Pacers, with a free throw by MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander giving the Thunder their 12,162nd point.

This season marks the Thunder’s 102nd official game, as their 81-point NBA Cup final loss doesn’t count toward league totals. Oklahoma City also set a franchise-best 68 regular-season wins and could join the elite group of teams with at least 84 total wins if they claim the championship.
Despite ranking only 27th all-time in scoring average when combining regular season and playoffs, the Thunder’s consistency and resilience have stood out. They are also second all-time in average point differential (12.2), trailing only the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks.
Coach Mark Daigneault credited the team’s mindset and internal focus, highlighting their rise from a 22-win season just three years ago to title contenders.
